Description

The museum kicks off its efforts to restore Three Oaks' "mystery building" to its former splendor. The building at 7 South Elm Street was built in 1933 to house the EK Warren & Son Company, which managed the Warren family's extensive agricultural operations, both in SW Michigan and in Texas, New Mexico, and even Mexico.
The building-- unoccupied for 45 years-- was recently donated to the museum, which will install exhibits about the Warrens and the Featherbone Company, which drove the local economy for decades. Renovation will cost $50-70,000.
The museum plans two fundraisers on August 16:
1) At 6 PM, cocktails at 7 South Elm. Attendees will get to see the interior of the building so many have wondered about, see documents and photos found inside, enjoy drinks and light bites, and hear a presentation on the history of the building and its ties to Wild West ranching. At about 7:30, that group will head to 708 S. Elm, the beautiful home built by EK Warren II, for a terrific three-course dinner prepared by chef Reyna Larson. Tickets to this event are $300, of which $250 is tax-deductible.
2) A second group will come to 7 South Elm at 7:30 to see the building and its contents, enjoy drinks and light bites, and hear about the storied history of the Warrens' far-flung farming and ranching operations. Tickets to this event are $150, of which $125 is tax-deductible.

We hope you'll join us for a fun evening that will also help restore one of Three Oaks' forgotten treasures.
